Department of Library Services

Loudoun County's public library system offers a variety of materials free of charge to registered borrowers, including books, magazines, electronic books, equipment for people with vision and hearing impairments, compact discs, DVDs, and audio cassettes.

Library Services also provides a wide range of technological resources, including a web-based catalog allowing online renewals and requests, automated telephone renewal and request notification, full text magazine databases, online business and investment resources, and public access to the Internet. The library has computers, audiovisual equipment and meeting rooms which may be reserved for public use. Citizens who cannot easily access library facilities are served through the library's Outreach Services.

The reference and youth services staff answer questions either in person, by phone, e-mail or "live chat." In addition, cultural and educational programs for children, teens and adults are scheduled throughout the year at the branch libraries.

Loudoun County library cards may be used at any of the branch libraries as well as other Metropolitan Washington D.C. public libraries.
