Financial Counseling

Financial counseling is available from the Virginia Cooperative Extension, which utilizes trained volunteers to assist families in a free, confidential, one-to-one counseling/educational setting. The goal of the program is to help families learn the skills needed to manage their finances. Counseling includes financial goal setting, record keeping, budgeting, consumer credit management, and debt resolution.

Loudoun Interfaith Relief, Inc.

A non-profit food pantry, Loudoun Interfaith Relief, Inc. distributes emergency food supplies and promotes self-sufficiency to any resident living in Loudoun County, Virginia. Loudoun Interfaith Relief, Inc. also assists organizations and agencies in need of emergency food supplies.

LINK, Inc.

LINK is an association of 13 churches in Sterling and Herndon which cooperate to help local individuals and families in need. LINK provides emergency food, furniture, clothing, and limited financial assistance to Sterling and Herndon residents in crisis.

Salvation Army

Residents in need of financial assistance may contact the Salvation Army of Loudoun County, which distributes living assistance for utility bills, rent, prescriptions, food, clothing, and furniture. A caseworker determines a client's eligibility for assistance based on need. The Salvation Army thrift stores provide furniture, household items, and clothing at a low-cost rate.

Legal Services of Northern Virginia, Loudoun Branch

This office provides legal services to the low income and elderly of Loudoun County, including assistance with problems such as custody, child support, debt collection, landlord/tenant relations, bankruptcy, wills, and powers of attorney. Legal Services of Northern Virginia does not handle criminal or traffic cases.
