The Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services currently operates more than a dozen parks.

Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority

The NVRPA provides 19 parks in the Northern Virginia area for public use, including six in Loudoun County.

Algonkian Regional Park, located on Fairway Drive in Sterling, offers swimming, golf, fishing, boating, a playground, vacation cottages and a meeting center. Phone: 703-450-4655

Balls Bluff Regional Park, located on Balls Bluff Road in Leesburg at the site of a historic Civil War battle, offers scenic hiking trails along the Potomac River. Phone: 703-737-7800

Brambleton Regional Park, located near Beaverdam Reservoir, features an 18-hole golf course. The park is located near the intersections of Routes 772 and 659, between Arcola and Ashburn. Phone: 703-327-3403

Red Rock Regional Park, located on Edwards Ferry Road in Leesburg, offers trails, hiking and a nature sanctuary. Phone: 703-737-7800

Temple Hall Farm Regional Park, located north of Leesburg, is a 286-acre working farm with livestock including peacocks, chickens and pigs. The park is available for groups of schoolchildren. To schedule a school tour, school representatives may call 703-779-9372.

The W & OD Railroad Regional Park, a 45-mile linear park extending from I-395 in Arlington to Route 690 in Purcellville, offers a paved jogging and bicycling trail. There is an adjacent bridle path from Vienna west to Purcellville. Phone: 703-729-0596

Ida Lee Park and Recreation Center

Ida Lee Park and Recreation Center, operated by the Town of Leesburg, is available for use by any resident of Loudoun County. Services include a swimming pool, weight room, gym with basketball and volleyball, swimming lessons, exercise programs, and recreation classes.
